ABS Biotechnologies

ABS Biotechnologies is a biotechnology company based in Tulln, Austria, developing human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) models that make drug development safer.

Built on cardiovascular and stem cell research from the University of Cambridge, our platform combines ready-to-order Workhorse hiPSCs, a Custom hiPSC reprogramming service, and two proprietary cardiovascular technologies:
region-specific vascular Smooth Muscle Cells (SMC) and the EPI cardiomyocyte maturation booster.

Together, these tools help researchers detect cardiovascular drug side effects earlier and more reliably than conventional preclinical models, reducing the risk that unsafe compounds ever reach clinical trials or patients.

Our Technology Platform at a Glance

Workhorse hiPSCs - Ready-to-order, quality-controlled hiPSC lines from ethnically diverse donors, available off the shelf for disease modelling and drug discovery.

Custom hiPSC reprogramming - Bespoke reprogramming of blood or skin biopsy samples into custom hiPSC lines, including genomic engineering and full quality control.

Smooth Muscle Cells (SMC) - Region-specific, iPSC-derived vascular smooth muscle cells for cardiovascular disease modelling and drug toxicity testing.

EPI - An epicardium-derived conditioned medium that matures hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes for more predictive cardiac drug safety assays.
